HIPPEROS is the main output of the PAPARETO project. This project is presently ongoing at the PARTS research unit of the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB):
HIPPEROS will be a tool to test new design ideas and algorithms for RTOS.
But HIPPEROS is not intended as a research prototype. The goal of HIPPEROS is to be a high quality commercial operating system. Therefore norms conformance and industrial standards are an issue to be addressed.
HIPPEROS is to be used for creating more efficient embedded applications. HIPPEROS will thus be a tool that benefits from advanced R&D and that will be used for exploiting that R&D, and thus promoting further research.
The development of an operating system is always a very ambitious project, certainly when the goal is not to be a “me too” player but to innovate beyond the state-of-the art.
