HIPPEROS Chief Scientist receives an Influential Papers Award at RTNS 2017

​Prof. J. Goossens, Chief Scientist at HIPPEROS, receives an Influential Papers Award in the framework of the 25th anniversary of the International Conference on Real-Time Networks and Systems RTNS 2017. The awarded paper is entitled Limitation of the hyper-period in real-time periodic task set generation. The research presents a method to generate arbitrary and randomly periodic real-time tasks.

The originality of the method relays on the smart way to choose the task periods in order to reduce the hyper-period of the system. This result speedups the timing analysis validation and verification phase in the design of real-time system, using the HIPPEROS technology schedulability tools in particular, by reducing the length of the observation interval.

HIPPEROS joins European Machine Vision Alliance

HIPPEROS focuses more and more on offering High Performance Embedded Solutions to enable "intelligent autonomy", where computer vision is a key technology. Joining the European Machine Vision Alliance (EMVA) is a must to be part of that ecosystem. The HIPPEROS RTOS running on a Xilinx Zynq 7*** board contained multicore ARM CPUs and an FPGA can demonstrate low power hard real-time image processing at very high performance (10 x FPS) by perfectly synchronizing software and hardware accelerated tasks. Mr Ben Rodriguez, CEO of HIPPEROS, will give a talk at the European Machine Vision Forum (Vienna, 6 - 8 September 2017) to present HIPPEROS R&D activities in computer vision as part of the H2020 TULIPP project.

HIPPEROS Chief Scientific Evangelist to talk at ULB FNRS contact group

On May 26th, professor Joël Goossens, CSE of HIPPEROS, will give a talk at the ULB FNRS contact group workshop on "Critical analysis & quality improvement of numerical information". His presentation will be about the temporal quality and accuracy of data and computation and focus on "Real-time, determinism and schedulability as major challenges for embedded systems". This public talk is free of charge but registration is mandatory

Save more power with HIPPEROS RTOS technology!

HIPPEROS presented results at the 24th International Conference on Real-Time Networks and Systems (RTNS) in 2016.

We published a paper named “Quantifying Energy Consumption for Practical Fork-Join Parallelism on an Embedded Real-Time Operating System”.

We showed that by using a power-aware parallel programming frameworks for the design of real-time embedded applications, the HIPPEROS RTOS allows system energy savings up to 30% compared to traditional, sequential approaches.
The resulting frameworks are part of the ARIA core.

HIPPEROS at the Smart Systems Industry Summit 2016

​On October 11th, the SSIS 2016 will take place in Mechelen, Belgium. This is the place to get a sneak preview on what the future will bring in the domains of Smart Health, Smart Vehicles, Smart Home and Cities, Smart Vision and new this year Smart Analytics.

Mr Ben Rodriguez, CEO of HIPPEROS, will give a talk on the Smart Vision Track about The TULIPP Framework: A Low Power High Performance Image Processing Platform for Smart Applications.

HIPPEROS joined HiPEAC network

The goal of the HiPEAC network is to strengthen the European research community in computing systems, by gathering the leading European academic and industrial groups in one virtual center of excellence, collaborating on joint research projects, and shaping the future of computing systems in Europe. For HIPPEROS, this is an opportunity to strenghten our R.D activities to create the operating systems needed for next generation high performance embedded computing.

HIPPEROS will be present at the HIPEAC 2017 conference at Stockholm in January 2017.

HIPPEROS in H2020 TULIPP project

In the H2020 project TULIPP, HIPPEROS, together with Thales, Synective Labs, RUB, NTNU, Efficient Innovation, Sundance and Fraunhofer IOSB, develops a reference platform (Hardware, Operating System and Tool Chain) that defines implementation rules and interfaces to tackle power consumption issues while delivering high-efficient and guaranteed computing performance for image processing applications. TULIPP uses cases include automotive, drone and medical applications.

Within TULIPP, HIPPEROS is the leader for runtime, API, libraries and real-time operating system (RTOS) development and instantiation. HIPPEROS will thus provide the reference middleware and RTOS implementation for the TULIPP platform.
